Trend Report 5.31.22

This week, we heard from Matt Robertson about #Sports trends.

As the pro-sports seasons transition, advertisers and professional organizations are looking for new ways to increase popularity. The #MLB has found its popularity growing within regional sports markets despite a national decline in viewership, while the #WNBA has its most sponsors ever this season. The #F1 circuit has turned to #cryptocurrency to sponsor its drivers, with the stars of the sport like #LewisHamilton closely tying their brand with crypto.  With #NIL rules changing, younger athletes are also becoming adept at branded sponsorship, with plenty of young football stars showing off new partnerships at the #NFLDraft.

New initiatives and technology overseas have increased the popularity and desire for eco-friendly #SmartStadiums, with the first ever carbon neutral cricket game being played last month. In the U.S., stadiums have looked to digitize the in-game experience with sponsored digitized concession stands popping up at Petco Park in San Diego and Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
