Trend Report 3.1.22

This week, we heard from Ravina Soma about #Beverage trends.

The beverage industry is booming with new canned cocktails, CBD infused drinks, boxed wines, and bubble teas! With the pandemic creating high amounts of stress, innovation and creativity of canned cocktails has increased exponentially and CBD infused drinks are in high demand as consumers look for new ways to have a chill night in. In the recent years even, celebrities have joined the beverage industry by using their personal passions to inspire alcoholic beverage lines. Nina Dobrev created Fresh Vine Wine, a low carb/calorie and gluten free-option, Ian Somerhalder & Paul Wesley created Brothers Bond Bourbon to feed the nostalgic fans of their hit show, The Vampire Diaries, and Kendall Jenner has also joined the beverage scene with her brand 818 Tequila which is now the #1 selling tequila in the United States.

Beverage companies have also been collaborating outside of their industry to meet a larger audience. Skullcandy and Budweiser recently worked together to create Budweiser themed headphones and wireless earbuds. They presented this partnership with the line “We loaded a few of our favorites with the smooth flavor that Budweiser is famous for. Welcome to the King of Collaborations”. Hornitos also partnered up with GLAAD to support the LGBTQ community by donating profits and spreading awareness for the programs that GLAAD puts on. Lastly, Mountain Dew ventured out of its comfort zone and created “Hard Mountain Dew”, an alcoholic twist on their classic soda!
