This week, we heard from Hannah Rinkov about #SocialMedia trends.

While social media has always been an important part of brand strategy, now more than ever, brands are focusing their efforts toward connecting with consumers online. American Honda Motor Company, Inc. debuted their new #Civic on Twitch. The Twitch event replaced the typical approach of auto shows. Instagram is making it easier to shop on their platform than ever before. After adding them to #IGTV earlier this year, #Reels will soon have the shopping feature. Since Reels’ launched, brands like Chipotle Mexican Grill, #DunkinDonuts, and Maybelline Cosmetics have taken part. This will be one to watch to see which brands use the shopping tools in their content. And as always, brands continue to use their social media platforms to connect with consumers through current events. A myriad of brands interacted with the results of the presidential election, as well as participating in #Twitter meme trends.
