This week, we heard from Kelley McIntosh about #ShopperMarketing and #Retail trends.

Retail in the days of #COVID is starting to show signs of revival and evolution, moving from straight-up sanitation efforts to lighter campaigns to drive traditionally key shopping occasions, like back-to-school and upcoming holidays. Some efforts are more successful than others. This #DSWFail shows how not to wear masks. Other efforts are focusing on efficiency in the back of the house, like Albertsons’s micro-fulfillment centers moving the bulk of online order fulfillment off the main floor. Amazon has opened the doors to its first long-awaited Whole Foods/Prime/365 mashup, #AmazonFresh, stocking traditional grocery brands, private label and local items. It brings with it hands-free tech advances sure to become the norm, like #AskAlexa stations to help shoppers find products and Amazon #DashCarts that enable customers to place products in bags directly from the shelf after scanning with the Amazon app that completes payment at the end. Looking forward to no more checkout lines.
