Trend Report 9.13.22

This week we heard from Hannah Rinkov about #Beauty, #PersonalCare, & #Fashion trends.

In the world of fashion, brand collabs and partnerships are still trending. Luxury brand Balmain partnered with Pokémon on a line that featured Pokémon on the brand’s luxury goods. This program also included an overlay of Pokémon Unite, the team battle game, where fans could download a virtual version of the clothing pieces. Heinz took a unique approach to their collaboration with thredUP by selling thrifted clothing stained by ketchup. The HEINZ Vintage Drip collection featured 157 secondhand streetwear and designer pieces, each with a unique HEINZ ketchup stain.

Even Beauty brands take advantage of creating an unexpected collaboration. Applebee’s partnered with Winky Lux to create menu-inspired products with their Saucy Gloss line that featured lip gloss in flavors such as  Get Me Hot Buffalo, Sweet Chile Kiss, Be My Honey Pepper and Honey BBQ-T. Applebee’s also created a song to go with the campaign to encourage consumers to create content around the line. The ever-collaborating HipDot partnered with Dungeons and Dragons web series, Critical Role, to create a new collection that included an eyeshadow pallet, highlighter, and more. The eye shadow colors were all inspired and by and embossed with an image of a character from the show. Lastly, to celebrate the launch of Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Urban Decay created a new makeup collection with 13 shades to match the series. The collection featured video tutorials on how to apply and continues an ongoing collaboration between Urban Decay and Marvel.
