Trend Report 12.7.21

This week, we heard from Jessica Russell about #Beverage and #QSR trends.

Entertainment partnerships continue to be a key way for the beverage & restaurant industries to excite audiences. Denny’s has gone glitchy with #TheMatrix, so Rewards members can receive special offers while the glitch lasts. Complete with a commercial spot, there’s no better title to promote their digital relaunch and drive app usage. Tanqueray has partnered with #HouseofGucci with a custom spot promoting their martini #WithaTwist, a nod to their placement in the film. And globally, Pepsi and Estrella Galicia beer created custom bottles and cans for the hit series #MoneyHeist. Looking ahead to 2022, QSR’s are continuing to innovate as they navigate consumers’ changing behaviors. Taco Bell is developing their #Defy two-story prototype restaurant which will have dedicated drive-thru lanes for mobile or delivery pickup. Carl’s Jr. is also working on a prototype with expanded drive-thru access and smaller dining space, while Wendy’s is working on a drive-thru only concept.
